10. When are you able to volunteer?
Data Protection
The legal basis for processing the information you provide as part of your volunteer application is legitimate interest as we require this data to determine your suitability to volunteer with us. By sending us this information you are consenting for us to process that information for the purposes of enabling us to create an electronic and paper record of your application and to determine your suitability to volunteer. We may also use the information to compile statistics provided that no statistical information that would identify you as an individual will be published. The information you give will be kept securely.
You can withdraw your consent to any particular usage of your personal information at anytime without needing to specify a reason why. You can withdraw your consent by emailing us at [email protected] or writing to us at 29A Holderness Road, Hull, HU8 7NA.
The information we gather and hold is managed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulations 2018.
We respect your privacy and promise to keep your information safe and secure. We will not disclose, or share personal information supplied by you with any third party organisations, without your consent.
We will retain your information for no longer than twelve months if you are unsuccessful in your application. If you are successful it will become part of your volunteer file and be kept for the duration of your time volunteering with Ready Steady Read, plus six years.
